Sensory Direct’s Snuggly Tactile Weighted Blanket has been made for those that love a soft and cosy tactile material. It can be used on a bed (on top of existing bedding) or is perfect for draping across the shoulders or wrapping around the body for a calming hug effect.

Reversible, made with a super soft and warm minky dimple fleece on one side and high quality, durable polycotton on the other side.
CE approved.

Weighted Blankets are typically used to reduce the symptoms of conditions such as autism (ASD) and sensory processing disorders (SPD). They are now widely used for other reasons such as reducing stress and anxiety, PTSD, panic attacks and reduce meltdowns as well as helping you and your child get a good night’s sleep.

The weight is provided by plastic beads sewn into small individual cells within the durable polycotton inner lining for additional strength and comfort. This design allows the user to place the blanket over themselves and feel their body being cocooned by the beads for a deep pressure calming effect.

IMPORTANT

It is recommended that the Weighted Blanket should not exceed 10% of the user's bodyweight. Please use our Weight Guideline for advice on choosing the correct weight for you. We also recommend that you consult with an Occupational Therapist on weight.

Sleeping in his own bed for the first time in a year.
"So far so good! My son is getting used to it and has been sleeping in his own bed for the first time in a year. He still occasionally asks to come with us but on the whole I feel it is working and though his sleep is still erratic, there is vast improvement and I am so grateful to Sensory Direct for that. I have recommended the blanket to other parents and ask them to buy from you. Although there might be cheaper versions, it doesn't include the services you offer when buying and after.

Lifesaver!
"Wow the difference this has made. My little one is 4 years old and diagnosed with autism, global developmental delay and is non verbal. She requires high levels of deep pressure to get calm and sleep had always been one of the bigger issues, both with settling at night and then again with waking up frequently during the night and finding it hard to settle again.

This is where this weighted blanket has been a lifesaver.

She settles to bed between 8-9pm and sleeps through without waking until about 5ish most nights now. Obviously we have had bad nights in between but only a few instead of every night, as a result she is much calmer and happier during the day and we see less frustration. I could not recommend this highly enough as it’s made so much difference to our lives and made my girl happier plus the blanket looks amazing too."

A positive difference within the first week
"I bought a weighted blanket for my three year old son, and I just want to say that it has been magic what that blanket has done for him & us. He had big problems with finding rest during the days and nights. He had trouble in other things too but after sleeping with a Sensory Weighted Blanket there was a positive difference within the first week.

VAT Relief

This product is eligible for VAT relief and can be purchased free from VAT.

If you have a disability or a chronic medical condition you can claim VAT relief on certain eligible products provided the products are purchased for personal or domestic use.

Charities can qualify for VAT relief where these conditions are met.

Delivery & Returns

ON RECEIPT OF YOUR ORDER

On receipt of your order please open all packages and thoroughly check for missing or damaged products as soon as possible. You must notify Sensory Direct of any missing or damaged products within 3 days of the delivery. If we are not notified of missing or damaged products within 3 days we are unable to claim from the carrier and we will be unable to refund or replace the missing or damaged products. If the packaging appears damaged and you do not have time to check the products you should sign the carrier's paperwork and add the word "Damaged".

Non-receipt of your order must be notified to Sensory Direct within 7 days of notification of despatch.

DELIVERY

Products that are in stock and ordered before 2pm, Monday to Friday, will be despatched on the same working day.

Sensory Direct's Weighted Blankets, Weighted Jackets, Shoulder Wraps, Lap Pads and other handmade products may take 3-5 working days to be despatched if not in stock. We will endeavour to contact customers whose orders may be affected by any despatch delays.

Delivery is FREE for online orders of £45 and above within Mainland UK (excluding Highlands, Offshore Islands and Northern Ireland).
Mainland UK delivery charges are £3.95 Royal Mail and £5.95 for Courier delivery for orders under £45. (See FAQs for Courier Estimated Delivery Times).
Small products are sent by Royal Mail. Larger products are sent by Courier for Mainland UK next day delivery. For smaller products that are in stock and ordered before 2pm, you can now select and pay for Mainland UK next day delivery at the checkout stage.
Some larger products may be delivered directly from the manufacturer.
Please note we cannot deliver to a PO Box address.
We are currently unable to ship outside of the UK unless you hold a trade account with us.

RETURNS

We want you to be 100% happy with your purchase, but if you find that the product is not suitable you must return the product to us within 30 days of receipt for a refund or exchange of the same or similar. Returns of sale products must be within 14 days of receipt.

To receive a refund or exchange, goods must be returned unused, in their original packaging and with all original documentation.

Our Story

When my son was born with autism, my world changed and Sensory Direct was born

Ethan had been prescribed different forms of medication, and although they helped a little, I didn’t want to become reliant upon them, so Ethan’s Paediatric Consultant suggested a Weighted Blanket. I remember hearing this and thinking ‘what on earth is a Weighted Blanket’? At this stage I was blissfully unaware of how life changing that Weighted Blanket would become.
