Sensory Direct Welcomes SenseToys To The Family
Sensory Direct is delighted to welcome SenseToys to the Sensory Direct family. SenseToys was founded by Lesley Burton, a mother of 2 children with additional needs, after many fruitless searches for toys and activities to help her sons. From the beginning the company has excelled in selling a wide range of sensory toys and communication resources for children with special educational needs and learning disabilities. This includes poor or delayed language development and skills, dyspraxia, developmental delays, ADHD, autism and other spectrum disorders. In addition to this, the informative play tips became popular resources for all children, with or without additional needs.
With shared values and a joint ethos, the acquisition of SenseToys was an opportunity too good to miss. Operating under the ‘Sensory Direct Umbrella’ SenseToys will give access to a greater portfolio of sensory aids and new sectors for growth including nurseries, care homes and respite centres. The union of companies strengthens Sensory Direct’s commitment to the industry and to the sharing of knowledge, resources and products.
Founder Lesley Burton is leaving SenseToys with fond memories after 15 years to focus on the book she is writing and speaking at events. Lesley comments, “I am delighted to be handing over the business to Sensory Direct where it is in very safe hands and I am sure it will thrive with their management and marketing resources.”
The Sensory Direct Team wishes Lesley all the best in her new adventures and look forward to collaborative working in the future.
