Idioms Fun Deck
This 56 card set matches Idioms with their real meaning in a sturdy tin.
An Idiom is a phrase often used in everyday conversation which is not meant to be taken literally - "its raining cats and dogs" or "got out the wrong side of the bed".
For people with Autism and Aspergers this can be very confusing!
Match each idiom with its real meaning. Game ideas included. (And we're not pulling your leg!).

"Bought this set because my son's SL-P uses it in his therapy sessions. It's a really great way for him to learn about idioms. And now, when I say things like "Hold your horses!" he totally understands what I mean. He's a very literal kid, so getting him to understand what an idiom is and what each one actually means has been a big deal for us, and this card deck has really helped him make some progress."
"I used these cards to help ESL students develop an understanding of Idioms. They are fun and were used to play a game like Pictionary."

Our Story
When my son was born with autism, my world changed and Sensory Direct was born
Ethan had been prescribed different forms of medication, and although they helped a little, I didn’t want to become reliant upon them, so Ethan’s Paediatric Consultant suggested a Weighted Blanket. I remember hearing this and thinking ‘what on earth is a Weighted Blanket’? At this stage I was blissfully unaware of how life changing that Weighted Blanket would become.

British Born Solutions
Sensory Direct’s principle drive and values are based on wanting to help and support others find their solution.
We strongly believe in our products and ensure that the same love and care that went into making my son’s first Weighted Blanket goes into every handmade product we produce here in Worcester. We pride ourselves on our Customer Service and we will do our utmost to find you a solution that works.
